David Smart ARNOTT FAMILY
David Smart ARNOTT married Elizabeth ANDERSON on 26July 1864 in the house of Richard ANDERSON, Primrose Hill, Dunedin. He was age 27;she was 21. The officiating Minister was Rev Thomas Burns.
Their children were:
Euphemia Williamson born 29 July 1865 at Taieri Beach. Married 1899, George SNOWSILL
They had 4 sons. She died at Pahiatua 8 April 1911.
James born 7th February 1867 at Taieri Beach, married 17 Dec 1897 at Hastings,Ethel May Lillian Norcott WEBB. They had children.
Richard born 12th November 1868 at Halfway Bush, married 1906, Margaret Emily BATY. They had 2 sons and 2 (or 3) daughters. He died 8 September1935 at Anderson Park,Wyndham.
Mary McPherson born 6 August 1870 at Portobello,died 29 June1901 at Sandymount. Did not marry.
Ann Welsh born 3 May 1872 at Portobello,married 1896 Joseph BENFELL. They had 1 son and 3 daughters. She died in 29 March 1948 at Dunedin.
Peter born 29th June 1874 at Portobello, married 21 March 1901, Florence Anna Chamberlain GREEN. They had 3 sons and 4 daughters. He died 24 December 1935 at Seaward Downs.
Catherine (Kate) born 18 July 1846. Did not marry. Died 17 August 1951.Buried at Portobello.
Elizabeth born 25th October 1878 at Portobello,married 17 July 1907, Thomas Gellie DOBBIE. They had 2 sons and 3 daughters. She died 5 October 1960 at Menzies Ferry.
David, born 17th January 1881 at Portobello, married 4 February 1909 , Fanny Ida McCARTNEY. They had 2 sons and 2 daughters. He died 31 May 1970 at Dunedin.
Alexander Greig,born 12th February1883 at Portobellomarried 17 January 1923 Jane Johnstone NICOL. They had 3 daughters. He died 4 May 1952 at Invercargill.
Grace born 1885. Died 1887
Margaret born 1887. Died 1955. Did not marry.
